a. Postsecondary education centers: Possible issues to consider

What is the current status of center operations around the state?

Are centers still operating based on the Council’s 1998 guidelines?

Should current Council guidelines for centers be revised to help centers address postsecondary access needs in Kentucky in 2007?

Should the number of centers be expanded ?

How can we best use new e-learning strategies to fulfill the mission of centers?

Do postsecondary education centers address the needs of new and emerging student markets, such as adult learners?

What role should postsecondary education centers play in the Council’s Double the Numbers plan and the Regional Stewardship Program?

Is additional funding needed for current or new centers?
b. Extended campuses: Possible issues to consider
- Are current Council policies adequate to ensure cooperation and coordination among postsecondary institutions?
- What is the best way to create partnerships among public and private postsecondary institutions to promote effective and efficient delivery of academic programs?
- What should the Council’s oversight role be for programs offered within a universities area of responsibility and outside that area?
- How can e-learning best support extended campus programs?
- Do extended campuses address the needs of new and emerging student markets?
c. Academic program approval: Possible issues to consider
- Are current Council academic program approval policies appropriate to ensure program quality and efficient use of public resources?
- What is the Council’s role in encouraging collaboration among institutions?
- What should be the role of e-learning in new program development?
