Enrollment

Why is this measure important?

Enrollment is a critical measure for each institution because it determines program demand and affordability within its service region and beyond. The measure is assessed by disaggregating first-time and adult students, which reflects high school graduates’ interest in an institution and degree program, as well as adults’ interest in pursuing additional workforce preparation. Enrollment numbers create the student pipeline for degree production, which contributes to increased KY educational attainment, a stronger workforce, and improved opportunity for Kentucky citizens.

What is the technical definition?

An unduplicated undergraduate headcount on fall census day, disaggregated by underrepresented minority, adult, and first-time students. Note, campuses were not asked to set targets for this metric.
