2005 Legislative Session

Budget
The Council is charged with submitting a biennial budget request to the Governor on behalf of the entire postsecondary system.  It includes funding priorities not only for operations of the Council and the postsecondary institutions, but requests for capital projects, student aid and adult education services.

The Council works closely with legislative members and their staff during annual sessions advocating for or against legislation, monitoring bills and providing information as needed. 

Presentations
The Council President periodically gives presentations to various legislative groups regarding education policy and budget issues.

The Council is committed to remaining publicly accountable for postsecondary education reform through distribution of information about progress and challenges.
