COUNCIL ON POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION PRESIDENT BOB KING TO SPEAK AT NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM
Council on Postsecondary Education President Bob King will speak tomorrow (May 24, 2011) at a national symposium in Washington, D.C, sponsored by the National Center on Education and the Economy. The symposium, “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants,” features U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and a who’s who of selected educators and experts, including the heads of the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association. The panelists will discuss key education reform strategies shared by top-performing nations included in a paper to be issued by NCEE tomorrow.
According to NCEE, the audience will include members of the U.S. Congress and staff, senior administration officials, chief state school officers, state board of education chairs, governors’ education aides, as well as representatives of key associations, think tanks and media. The symposium gets under way at 11 a.m. EDT. A live webinar will be available from NCEE's website at http://www.necc.org.
