The Kentucky Virtual Library named 21 representatives to serve on two statewide teams tasked with implementing the online library’s new strategic plan. The KYVL is a unit of the Council on Postsecondary Education.

The new leadership structure will improve collaboration between Kentucky libraries and the virtual library as it seeks to enhance its effectiveness in serving the resource needs of the Commonwealth’s citizens.

The KYVL expands access to library services and resources for all citizens through its member libraries by offering full-text and abstract research databases, digitizing historical collections, providing a library management system shared across the state library and postsecondary institutions, and facilitating training, resource sharing and interlibrary loan.

KYVL Director Enid Wohlstein said she was very pleased with the appointments.

“The members of these two teams have a passion for the work, are leaders in their organizations, and share the KYVL vision to provide valuable and needed resources to students and citizens of our Commonwealth,” she said.
