Southern Regional Education Board Programs
The Council partners with the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) to coordinate programs to increase the availability of academic programs for Kentucky students.
- Academic Common Market is a cooperative tuition-reduction agreement among 16 SREB states which enables Kentucky students who are interested in an academic program not offered at a public/state-funded university in Kentucky to pay in-state tuition at participating public/state-funded colleges and universities.
- Optometry Contract Spaces provide Kentucky students the opportunity to study optometry at schools outside the state at reduced tuition.
- Veterinary Medicine Contract Spaces provide Kentucky students the opportunity to study veterinary medicine at schools outside the state at reduced tuition.
- Doctoral Scholars Program addresses the present underrepresentation of ethnic minorities in postsecondary education by encouraging ethnic minority students to pursue doctoral degrees for careers as college professors.
