Function of the Position
The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education seeks a Senior Associate – Administrative
Services (Accounting) to support agency accounting options. This position is responsible
for processing financial transactions, managing accounting systems, and assisting
staff with reimbursement and payment procedures.
This position processes financial transactions, disbursements, and receipts and assists
in the training of staff on reimbursement and payment authorization processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process accounts receivable, payments, and financial documents
- Maintain and manage the agency’s ePAY system
- Maintain agency inventory records
- Support and maintain the agency’s payment management system
- Serve as administer for the agency’s electronic signature platform
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency policies, procedures, and regulations
- Assist with the annual CPE audit by compiling and reconciling fiscal year records, as requested
- Facilitate and manage travel payment process, including reviewing and approving travel authorizations and the eMARS travel documents for accuracy and adherence to agency guidelines and state travel regulations
- Maintain documentation as required by the record retention schedules.
- Contribute to the overall success of the office by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Three (3) years of professional experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
- Experience working with education and financial data
- Experiencing using the eMARS financial system
- Working knowledge of GASB and FASB advisory statements, particularly in the area of financial reporting
