The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) and GEAR UP Kentucky (GUK) have launched the I’m In! College Acceptance Video Challenge, which provides current Kentucky high school seniors the chance to appear in a statewide television commercial and win a $1,000 scholarship.

During this challenge, which will run until March 31, 2025, members of the Kentucky high school class of 2025 are encouraged to submit videos of themselves reading their college acceptance notification.

“When we talk about ‘college,’ we’re talking about any post-high school credential or degree program,” said GUK Executive Director Kim Welch. “We want students to share their excitement in getting accepted to a career-ready certification program, trade school, or two-or-four-year college!”

A select number of submitted videos will be featured in a statewide television commercial. A live, virtual drawing will be done among the students whose videos are selected to air. One student’s name will be selected to win a $1,000 scholarship, which will be paid directly to the in-state postsecondary institution of their choice.

“The I’m In! video challenge provides an opportunity for Kentucky students to celebrate and receive recognition for their hard work,” Welch said. “It also supports the state goal of having 60% of working-age Kentuckians with a college-level certificate or degree by 2030. Reaching that goal will bring the state closer to the projected national average and make the Commonwealth more competitive in an economy where most new jobs require a postsecondary credential.”
