Lee Nimocks is vice president and chief of staff for the Council on Postsecondary Education, where she oversees the areas of policy and data analysis, board development, planning, public relations and legislative affairs. She led the development of Kentucky’s 2016-2021 strategic agenda for postsecondary and adult education, and the accountability system that monitors institutional and system-level performance. Her current areas of policy focus include postsecondary education affordability, adult learner access and success, and workforce and education alignment.

Lee came to CPE in 2004 from the Association of Independent Kentucky Colleges and Universities where she was vice president in charge of state relations, communications and policy research. Before that, she served as an English professor and director of public relations at Sue Bennett College in London, Kentucky.

Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Rhodes College in Memphis, a master of arts in English from Vanderbilt University, and has completed doctoral coursework in education policy studies at the University of Kentucky. She is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Kentucky, a 2012 Lumina Foundation Academy for State Policy Leadership in Higher Education fellow, a member of the Board of Directors for One Parent Scholar House in Lexington, and is Kentucky’s state liaison for Complete College America, a national movement focused on promoting timely completion and closing achievement gaps.
