Healthcare Workforce Initiatives
The Healthcare Workforce Initiatives Program was established to grow and strengthen the education and training pipeline of healthcare professions within Kentucky’s two and four-year colleges and universities.
Function of the Position
Work with the Executive Director to carry out the responsibilities of the unit by serving as liaison with the Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund Steering Committee, collecting data, analyzing workforce needs and talent pool, and working with the CPE communications unit on communications tasks, website information and webcasts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and understand details of the Healthcare Workforce Collaborative Initiative and the HB 200 (statute and regulations) which creates the Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund.
- Serve as the main contact point for the Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund (HWIF)
Steering Committee. Those duties include:
- Monitoring and responding to the dedicated HWIF email.
- Analyzing the workforce needs of each geographic region of the state and providing this data to the program coordinator and ultimately to the steering committee.
- Analyzing workforce talent pool resources for each geographic region of the state and providing this data to the program director and ultimately to the steering committee.
- Organize steering committee meetings, provide agenda, secure meeting time and location, arrange for technology needs, and record minutes of meetings.
- Organize and present partnership funding requests and incentive fund requests to the program coordinator and ultimately to the steering committee.
- Coordinate guidance issues/questions with program director and CPE legal council.
- Monitor and collect Campus reporting documents and organize for submission to the General Assembly.
- Monitor CPE website and provide timely content for summary information/informational links related to Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund.
- Conduct communication tasks as assigned and assist Communications Unit Team with branding, promotions, and information share.
- Collect data related to workforce success, scholarship statistics, incentive statistics and program evaluation, assist with planning the Healthcare Collaboratory Event, and work with the CPE communications unit on website information and podcast.
- Assist program director with creating and monitoring a Q and A document to be housed on website.
- Plan details of webcasts related to healthcare workforce initiatives.
- Confirm recording equipment is set up to record committee conference or Teams calls.
- Assist with planning the Healthcare Collaboratory Event and work with CPE staff to ensure details of the event are in order.
- Compile documentation of letters, reports, summary minutes of meetings and house them in the appropriate TEAMS folder.
- Maintain mailing lists for healthcare workforce initiatives.
- Order all supplies and materials as necessary.
- Schedule meetings and gather preparation materials as needed.
- Arrange travel, lodging, etc. for work related to healthcare workforce initiatives.
- Compose, proofread, and type correspondence for healthcare workforce unit staff.
- Process travel for reimbursement .
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years’ experience at a postsecondary institution or an education-related organization, or with healthcare management OR a master’s degree or above in public policy, education policy, healthcare management or related fields.
- Conceptualize, plan, manage and implement statewide higher education projects that engage numerous stakeholders at the campuses and key education partners.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Computer skills-MS Word Office Products.
Preferred Experience
- Methodology skills such as data collection and analysis.
- Skill in project management.
- Communications experience with branding, promotions, and information sharing.
