Council on Postsecondary Education appoints new Dual Credit Advisory Council members

The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) has appointed six new members to Kentucky’s Dual Credit Advisory Council, a body charged with overseeing policies and initiatives to expand and improve dual credit opportunities for high school students across the state.
The appointees bring a wealth of experience in secondary and postsecondary education, early postsecondary opportunities and student advocacy. Their leadership will support the Council’s mission to ensure access to affordable, high-quality dual credit programs that transfer to postsecondary programs and prepare students for college and careers.
Newly appointed members include:
- Angie White, Counselor, Barren County Schools
- Jama Griffie, Director of Dual Credit, Hazard Community and Technical College
- James Catchen, Director of Dual Credit and Transfer Pathways, Thomas More University
- Joel Pace, Director of the Eagle Scholars Program, Morehead State University
- Kara Schotter, Associate Vice-President of Academic Affairs, Jefferson Community and Technical College
- Sandra Hancock, Student Transitions Coordinator, Christian County Schools
“We are excited to welcome these exceptional leaders to the Dual Credit Advisory Council,” said Dr. Amanda Ellis, Vice President of Student Access and Success at CPE. “Their diverse perspectives and deep commitment to student learning will be invaluable as we continue to expand pathways that enable students to earn valuable college credit while still in high school.”
The Dual Credit Advisory Council serves as a collaborative forum for K-12 and higher education stakeholders to guide the development and implementation of dual credit programs. Council responsibilities include reviewing program standards, overseeing funding and policy alignment and supporting initiatives to promote access and quality in Kentucky’s dual credit system.

- Becky Gilpatrick, Director of Student Aid Services, Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority
- Harmony Little, Executive Director of Credentialing Strategies, Kentucky Community and Technical College System
- John Paise, Program Consultant for CTE Postsecondary and Career Readiness, Office of Career and Technical Education, Kentucky Department of Education
The next meeting of the Dual Credit Advisory Council is scheduled for July 16, 2025.
