Equine Trust Fund and Advisory Committee

Managed by CPE, the Postsecondary Education Equine Trust Fund uses a portion (0.1%) of tax monies garnered from track racing to subsidize facilities or equipment related to equine programs at Kentucky’s public universities and Bluegrass Community and Technical College. Currently, each eligible institution receives an equal allocation from the fund as a base, and may request additional monies as needed.

The Equine Trust Advisory Committee, a group of campus representatives appointed by CPE and providing guidance usage of funds, meets regularly twice a year. Membership of this committee includes:

• Remi Bellocq, Bluegrass Community and Technical College
• Katie Kaufman, Morehead State University
• Amy Lawyer, University of Louisville
• James Matthews, University of Kentucky
• Shea Porr, Murray State University
• Dan Strunk, Western Kentucky University
