The Council on Postsecondary Education passed two resolutions at their meeting on Friday, one commending the members of the Kentucky General Assembly and the other commending Gov. Andy Beshear for their service to postsecondary education in the commonwealth.
“Gov. Beshear and the General Assembly’s dedication to higher education in the commonwealth will benefit the people of this state for generations to come,” said CPE Chair Lucas Mentzer. “Their efforts will help strengthen our economy and ensure every Kentuckian has the opportunity to pursue their passions and better their lives through higher education. My fellow councilmembers and I are grateful for their leadership.”
The resolutions commend state leaders for creating a 2022-2024 state budget that reflects the value of higher education to our commonwealth and the unique role it plays in economic development and quality of life. The resolutions say the budget will empower Kentucky colleges and universities to remain affordable for students, enhance their campus infrastructure, and drive life-changing research in health care, agriculture, manufacturing and more.
